Terms of Use

Reservations

All reservations are made according to the category of the vehicle and not for a specific model. In case of unavailability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the client, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, SANTORI RENTAL reserves the right to provide the client with a vehicle of a higher category, without charge to the client.

Driver

Minimum age limit of 23 years for the use of cars of category A,B,C,D and 25 years for the other categories of cars.

Driving licence

A valid driving license for the Greek territory and the EU, issued at least 1 year before the date of commencement of the rental is required. Citizens of non-EU countries are required to have a valid international driving licence, together with the presentation of the national driving licence.

Citations – Fines

Citations and fines as a result of violations of the Road Traffic Code are the responsibility of the Lessee. In addition, the Lessee shall, where applicable, pay the administration costs.

Method of payment

The Lessee is required to present a credit card as security for the rental, even if payment is made in cash money. The rental is prepaid.

Cancellations

The cancellation of the reservation must be made at least seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled date and time of commencement of the rental of the vehicle (always in accordance with the exact time of the reservation), as recorded in the Company’s reservation system. If you wish to cancel a reservation, you will contact the Company through the booking system.

The following charges will apply to cancellations of reservations:

In the event of a cancellation notice received by SANTORI RENTAL less than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the scheduled start of the vehicle rental, no refund of any amount of money that may have been paid in advance will be made.

Deliveries – Pick-ups outside of operating hours

Customer surcharge of 20€ for pick-up and 20€ for delivery.

Deliveries – Pick-ups outside the stations

Deliveries and collections outside the stations are made at the request of the customer. The surcharge for deliveries and pick-ups for the Port (Athinios) is 0€ for pick-up and 0€ for delivery

Extra driver

The charge for each additional driver is 0€/day. The maximum number of drivers is fixed at 3 persons.

Child seat

The charge for a child seat is set at 0€/day upon customer request.

Fuel

The lessee must return the car with the same amount of fuel that he/she received. If the car is returned with less fuel than the original amount of fuel (i.e. the amount of fuel the customer received the vehicle with), the customer will be charged the difference in fuel. No compensation is provided for the customer if the car is returned with a larger quantity of fuel than was received. Vehicles are delivered with a minimum quantity of fuel corresponding to ¼ of the tank.

Accident

In the event of an accident, the customer will be charged 15€ for the costs of managing the accident file.

Insurance

CDW – Exemption of payment for damage caused

The renter is fully exempt from liability for any damage to the car:

Over 600€ +VAT if he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s policy for the categories A,B,C,D,E,F (only for the car categories).
A prerequisite for the exemption of liability is that the damage is not demonstrably due to a violation of the Road Traffic Code.
SCDW – Exemption from payment of damages caused:

The hirer is fully exempt from liability for any damage to the car:

Over 300€ +VAT if he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 6€ in addition to the CDW, for each day of rental for categories A,B,C,D,E,F (only for car categories).A prerequisite for the discharge of liability is that the damage is not demonstrably due to a violation of the Road Traffic Code.

FDW – Full exemption from payment for damage caused

The renter is fully exempted from liability for any damage to the car if he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of:

12€ in addition to the CDW, for each day of rental for categories A,B,C,D,E,F (only for car categories)
The damage must not be proven to be due to a violation of the Highway Code.

PAI – Driver Insurance

The renter is not covered with “Driver’s Insurance” (PAI), unless he/she accepts and signs the relevant clause of the company’s contract and pays the amount of: 10€/day of rental for all categories of vehicles.

Maximum amount of insurance payable: 15,000 euros.

Insurance limits

The vehicles are insured against third parties (excluding the driver) for death and bodily injury up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand euros (1.220. 000,00€) per accident and for third party property damage (excluding the vehicle of SANTORI RENTAL) up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand euros (1.220.000,00€). In the event of a change in the above limits, the minimum limits, as determined by the applicable Greek legislation, will always apply. Damages exceeding the limit of the insurance coverage or excluded from it, will be paid in full by the client.

Theft/Fire

The renter is fully exempted from liability for any damage to the car in case of fire or theft, if he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of: 10€/ rental day for categories A,B,C,D,E,F (only for car categories).The main condition for the above coverage is the absence of negligence, even slight, or the commission of illegal acts during the rental of the vehicle.

Carriage of a car outside the border

It is prohibited to transport and drive the car outside the borders of the Greek territory. Exceptionally and only with the written permission of the company and with the payment of the amount to be determined by the company, the car may be driven outside the borders

Car transportation by boat

Written permission from the company is required for the car to be transported by ship.
